Details
Please verify that your exhaust ports are parallel, and do not come out of the head at a side ward angle. XS400 models from outside of the US may have angled exhaust ports which will not be compatible with this set of pipes. If your pipes come out of the head at an angle, you will likely need an XJ400 exhaust system.
- Improves performance by increasing power, along with decreasing weight
- Increased ground clearance
- Does not block center stand, oil filter or drain plug access
- Removable all steel, mechanical baffles
- NOTE: Please verify that your exhaust ports are parallel. XS and XJ engines vary by country..
- NOTE: Exhaust gaskets are not included, but may be purchased separately if required..
- NOTE: Carburetor re-jetting may be desired for best performance.

Hi,
Are these Mac Performance pipes and exhaust? Will they fit my 1977 Yamaha XS400D? I checked the ports and they are parallel as opposed to angled. The bike is a US model. I bought it new in 1977 and I am going to bring it back to life. Should I consider 2-1 pipes?.
LarryYes, these are made by MAC Performance. Yes, this will fit the 1977 XS400 with parallel exhaust ports. The 2 into 1 is nice, but its all about preference. Both are an aftermarket style, but the 2-2 do appear more like factory pipes if that is what you are going for.
