niche cycle responds to an order essentially instantaneously. whatever i order is in the mail before i can collect my thoughts. in addition, their selection of mikuni parts is the best there is, including sudco, i order from niche cycle exclusively these days.

the 34mm carbs i bought are to replace the 32s ive run for thirty years on my old T120. in all that time, i had only one problem with the miks, a leaking float needle seat. i broke one carb body by unnecessarily taking it apart to fix that, so i bought two 34mm to replace what i'd been running.

the 34s use all the same jets, needles, and seats as the 32s, so all my old tuning stuff interchanges (unlike the TMs). so i anticipate being able to rejet these 34s to correct values without any drama.

aside, mikuni carbs are the best there is, IMO. easy to tune, consistent, and all the parts are available. i have two FCRs to use on a race project, but i choose VMs for my every day machine.

Questions & Answers

  • Can I order this with the UFO kit and an O-2 Needle Jet? Or do I have to purchase those separately?

They would have to be purchased separately.

  • Can I use this carb for a 2-1 conversion on a 82 Yamaha xv 750 once I’ve purchased the 2 to 1 manifold?

We don't sell a single carburetor kit for the XV750, but this carb is probably a pretty good choice. However, it will not come jetted for your needs. I also do not know the dimensions on the intake manifold or what type of rubber adapter you will need. So these are things you'll need to find out. I suggest you check with the seller of the manifold to see what is commonly used in this configuration. You will also need some jetting specs. Or, you might be able to find out this information in the XV forums.
It would be a whole lot easier to go with a complete kit like our dual carb kit:

  • Hello. I bought this carb from you a few months ago and it's great but I want to convert it to a pull up choke. The lever choke runs right behind my petcock & fuel lines so it's kind of a pain. Can you tell me which pull up style choke fits the carb? Thanks in advance!

The VM29/47 will fit, and function as it should, but in some cases it will just barely touch the carb top in the up (on) position. The reason its in "some cases" is due to the clocking of the carburetor cap when its fully screwed down. If one of the little nubs is clocked just right, it will contact the choke knob.
