I want to give a big THANK YOU!! The carburetor arrived much sooner than I expected! The fit and finish was excellent.
I installed the carb three days before a riding trip with my son. The carb ran great right out of the box, we even went to a 7000 foot elevation and the bike ran great!! I will recommend Niche Cycle to all of my friends. Your service was great and the quality of customs parts cannot be beat! I am so happy after fighting with my old carb for literally years, my 25 year old bike runs better than new. You are great!!

Questions & Answers

  • I was told by a repair shop that I would need a new carb for my Suzuki DR350SE. I’m not completely sure it’s not something else. If I bought this carb kit and it didn’t solve my problem, would I be able to return it?

Once the carb has been installed and fuel run though it, we can no longer sell it as new. That is why we cannot accept a return on a carb that has been installed.

  • I have a 99 DR350se, just has airbox mod and slip on muffler. I'm curious if you guys actually owned a DR350 when you developed this and if any dyno runs were done before/after? I know it's a low horsepower, older technology motor but was curious as to the results if any.

We own a DR350 and used it as a development model for this kit. That is how we were able to correctly design the necessary spacers and select the correct jetting for this kit. At the time we were developing this kit, our Dyno was not operational, but we used over 100 years of collective experience jetting motorcycles to dial in the jetting. I can't tell you the increase in horsepower, but I road tested the bike before and after the carb swap and I was very pleased with the increased performance. These aren't racing machines and most of our customers are looking for a reasonably-priced direct replacement carburetor. With this kit, you get that and more.
Our carbs are jetted for stock models ridden between sea level and 3500 feet. With air box and muffler mods, you may want to use the slightly larger pilot and main jet included with the kit, however, I would highly recommend first installing the carb the way it is shipped. There is a strong possibility no jetting changes will be necessary.

  • Will this kit work for a 1991 non- electric start DR350?

We do not make a kit for the non-electric start models of the DR350. We have had customers buy this kit for that purpose though, but we did not receive any feedback.
The jetting and size of the carb would work fine on any DR, but you may need to make some minor adaptions to make the carb work. For instance, you may need to acquire a used manifold from a SE model.
It is also entirely possible that the kit may bolt up to the non-electric start models. We have not had one to test, so we just don't know.

  • I have a 1991 DR350SM and I have a TM33-8012. My throttle is a single cable that is way too short and the throttle travel is also too short. What cables and push-pull throttle assembly do I need to fit the TM33? And if you could please give me a price on those parts. Thanks!

We have everything that you need available in kit form. You can find more information here: http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/mikuni/carb-kits/suzuki/ncs226-suzuki-dr350-tm33-carb-kit.html

  • Is it gold trim?

The manifold spacer, and the adapter ring is anodized a light gold.

  • Hey guys I have a TM33, cable set, throttle tube to put on my '98 electric start, but I need the intake spacer and jet kit. I live at about 4,500 ft and have ridden as high as 10,000 feet. This bike has an after market muffler.

We do not sell the intake spacer separate of the kit. You would also need an adapter ring so your air cleaner boot will fit on the carb. Again, however, we do not sell these parts separate of the kit.

We do sell jetting but not sized specifically for that altitude. You would need to determine the size you need after installing and testing the bike at altitude. Our kits are sold for use at sea level and are jetted as such. A good place to start your testing might be a 135 main jet and a 37.5 pilot jet.

  • need to know if this replacement comes with new intake bolts and adaptor!

Yes, longer bolts are included (not shown in photos) to compensate for the spacer. It comes with a pre-installed adapter for the airbox side of the carb, as well as the spacer that goes under the stock intake manifold. This kit does not included an intake manifold. Aside from the bolts, the kit comes exactly as shown in the photos.

  • Hi. I have 2 1996 DR350SE's. 100% stock both bikes. Thinking of trying on one of the bikes 1st to see how well the conversion was implemented.
    * Any mods needed to airbox or airbox boot ?
    * Do I need to remove the airbox boot to install (a major PITA to remove the airbox and / or boot on these bikes. One can get the stock carb on and off w/o removing the boot on the intake side of the carb.. not easy.. but can be done)
    * The stock bike already has the push / pull cable set up. Your kit includes it. But to simplify the install, can we just use the existing push / pull ?
    * Do you have a installation PDF you can share ? Good to see what is really needed to do to do the installation.

    Thanks !

No airbox, no intake related modifications are needed. If you can get the stock carb out without removing the boot, then I don't see too much issue getting out the TM33. Our kit has a spacer between the manifold and the engine. If you remove that first, it should be easier to get out compared to the stock carb. You might be able to get away with using the factory cables, but I believe there is a bit too much slop, and I suggest installing the cables that we include. I'll see about getting some instructions over to you. Its a pretty straight forward install.

  • I have a 94 dr350 with both kickstart and electric start and just single throttle cable. Is this the proper kit for me?

This kit should work on all models of the DR350 with electric start from 1990-99. But it sounds like somebody may have made a modification to your throttle and/or throttle cable. Or, perhaps your bike is a non-US model that didn't have dual cables. In the US, the DR (90-99) would have come with a dual throttle cable. It is possible that someone removed the return cable and you still have the correct twist throttle in place. If not, you would need to come up with a used DR throttle. Those can be found on eBay and they are usually pretty inexpensive. This kit is designed specifically to work on your bike so, other than the throttle, this will work for you.

  • I have a 91 dr350s I'm trying to convert over to a pumper carburetor. will this carburetor work.

Yes, this is the correct kit for that bike, and includes everything you need to install it.

  • I live at 7200ft and ride at high elevations, would you suggest a change in jetting?

Our kits have a baseline jetting. Usually a good starting point at moderate altitudes, but your bikes configuration and current performance specs will dictate any required jetting. You'll need to install the kit and run the bike to determine what specific jetting will be needed.
