TM Series Carburetors provide significant performance improvements over older design round slide carburetors. Air flows faster and smoother through the TM Series venturi due to the flat slide configuration and the jet blocks which help create a smoothbore effect. The high velocity of the air flow means a stronger vacuum at the needle jet, providing more precise metering and better throttle response. With accelerator pump!
This carburetor in particular is used on MANY applications, including the Suzuki DR350. Standard jetting is almost spot on for most DR350 setups depending on any performance related modifications. DR350 models which came with an electric start may have clearance issues.

Actual OEM stock replacement on all DR350 trail since SUZUKI originally used off the shelf TM33 Mikuni while manufacturing the DR350 trail.
It is also a modification free upgrade for all DR350 Dual Sports. Toss that CV carb and get a PUMPER!
With the proper throttle cable this carb will wake up just about any 350cc 4 stroke engine, motorcycle, ATV or other. Stock bore or big bore.
I've tuned several DR350 modified to run a DRZ400 Stock piston/chrome bore setup (455cc). Quality pumper carberator.

I bought one of these brand new back in 1998 for my DR350. I have since put a 435 kit in it and after 11,000 miles the carburetor needed replaced. I am not complaining. This exceeded the expected life span of the carb anyway. I just reused my 50 pilot jet and my 138 main jet and no other adjustments were needed. It runs like a new one again. I would highly recommend this over the stock CV carb.

The stock cables and throttle should be fine, but if your DR350 has the factory electric start, you may have some clearance issues with the TM33
Almost without a doubt modifications will be needed. We have not installed this carb on a TTR250, so I do not know what the requirements of the install will be.
It should fit right in, but its always best to check to see whats going on. Please take a measurement of the engine side, and the filter side of the carburetor being replaced. The stock cables should not have any problems
The carburetor will hit the starter motor. You will also need an adapter at the airbox size, and different cables. We have a kit that includes everything you need. It can be found here: http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/mikuni/carb-kits/suzuki/ncs226-suzuki-dr350-tm33-carb-kit.html
It will not install without the use of spacers, adapters or manifold swap, along with custom or modified cables, all of which we do not have specifics for at this time.
This kit is designed for the DR350 and we have not attempted to adapt it to a DR400. There have been some folks saying it would fit, be we have no way of verifying that.
We have never installed this carb on a DR250, so we don't have any experience with it in that application. From our work with the DR350, we found we had to manufacturer a spacer and adapter ring before the carb would fit. There are many things you need to consider before buying a carb. The first consideration is the volumetric size of the carb. You have to consider if this larger carb would be introducing too much fuel into cylinder head? The difference in size could prove to be a problem. Bigger is not better in the carb world unless you can also push more of a fuel/air mixture through your bike by adding a big bore kit, a high performance cam and a performance exhaust. I don't know if the TM28 was a stock carb, but if it was, you are going to be pushing a lot more air though the head with the TM33. We've found the pumper carb is a bit more forgiving, but you still may have issues if it is not the right size. There are other possible issues: will the mount to the existing manifold? Will it clear the top of the gas tank? Will your existing throttle cables work? If you not currently using a dual cable system, you will need to come up with a twist throttle and cables. Finally, once you get the carb on, you'll need to adjust the jetting to run with your particular bike. Before you buy a carb, please take a look at this article I wrote on swapping carbs:

If you buy a carb, you will find this helpful in tuning your bike:

Many people use the TM33 on KLX250s, but we are not sure entirely of what will be required. I believe the jetting is pretty close right out of the box, but you should measure the engine, and filter side of the stock carburetor and see how it compares to the TM33-8012
