TM Series Carburetors provide significant performance improvements over older design round slide carburetors. Air flows faster and smoother through the TM Series venturi due to the flat slide configuration and the jet blocks which help create a smoothbore effect. The high velocity of the air flow means a stronger vacuum at the needle jet, providing more precise metering and better throttle response.

What is the difference between the TM35-1 and the TMX35-1-K?
The difference between the TM35-1 carburetor and TMX35-1-K , is that the former is a kit that includes an air box adapter, fuel line, extended inner throttle cable, fuel line adapter nipple, additional jet needle as well as additional jetting.
These items are shown in the photos in the listing linked below:

Will this carb fit a 1990 YZ-125 Yamaha?
The TMX is specifically designed for 125cc, two stroke dirt bikes, and it will more than likely work with the YZ125. But, to be sure it will fit your bike, you would first have to measure the outside diameter of the engine-side spigot on the front of your carb, as well as the OD of the intake bell (going to the air box boot) to see if the carb will fit.
You will probably also have to make some jetting adjustments on your bike. I have written a couple of article that can help you with this conversion. I have attached links below:
