If you aren't familiar with light, you might find the bulb challenging to replace. This procedure make it much easier: First remove the snap ring holding the red lens in place. You will note the fit is tight and the lens does not easily drop out. Place a long, skinny pencil up through the license plate (clear) lens on the bottom of the light. Use the eraser end of the pencil to push out the lens.

Hello, is this tail light DOT approved?

Although the light is just as bright, it do not believe it has DOT certification.
